Chief Commercial Officer Jobs in Construction - Ireland

A Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is the senior executive responsible for driving revenue growth, commercial strategy and profitability across a business. In construction and infrastructure, this means owning the commercial and contractual relationship with clients — from winning new work through to protecting margin on delivery. Not to be confused with a Chief Compliance Officer or Chief Customer Officer (also sometimes abbreviated CCO), a Chief Commercial Officer's remit is revenue, pricing, and client relationships.

What does a Chief Commercial Officer do in construction?

  • Develop and lead the company's commercial strategy, aligning pricing, bidding and client acquisition with overall business growth targets.

  • Lead business development and key account management, building a strong, sustainable project pipeline.

  • Oversee tendering, bid management and contract negotiation to win profitable work on favourable terms.

  • Own commercial risk across the contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and industry standards.

  • Direct pricing, cost estimation and margin management across all active projects.

  • Build, mentor and lead a high-performing commercial team (estimators, quantity surveyors, business development staff).

  • Monitor market conditions, competitor activity and regulatory change to inform commercial decision-making.

  • Sit on the senior leadership team, contributing to wider business strategy and investment decisions.
