Diabetes Key Account Manager
 

Reporting To: Commercial Director
Location: Republic of Ireland (field-based) - South Leinster
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Therapeutic Area: Diabetes / Endochrinology

We are looking for a commercially driven and experienced Diabetes Key Account Manager to join a specialist field-based team in Ireland. This role is responsible for driving the adoption and growth of a diabetes portfolio across a defined territory. The successful candidate will engage with key stakeholders across hospital networks, primary care, and specialist diabetes centres — building long-term strategic partnerships to optimise patient outcomes and deliver on commercial objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategic key account plans for designated diabetes accounts across Ireland, including academic medical centres, regional hospitals, and primary care networks.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets, market share goals, and performance KPIs for the diabetes portfolio.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and HSE reimbursement developments, providing timely insights to the commercial team.
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based scientific presentations and product detailing to HCPs, aligned with Irish regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs to support medical education initiatives, advisory boards, and speaker programmes.
  • Stay current with clinical literature, treatment guidelines (e.g. ADA, EASD, IDS), and disease area developments 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records (e.g. Veeva), including call logs, account plans, and pipeline activity
Requirements
  • Minimum 3–5 years' pharmaceutical sales experience, with at least 2 years in a specialist or hospital environment.
  • Familiarity with IPHA Code of Practice and experience operating within a compliance-driven environment.
  • Experience using Veeva CRM or an equivalent system.
  • Established network of endocrinology, diabetes, or primary care contacts within Irish hospital and community settings.
