Our exclusive client is looking to hire a Laboratory Scientist on a full-time, permanent basis. Based in their state-of-the-art facilities in Dublin, you’ll be joining the organization at a critical and exciting stage in their growth strategy. This company provides best-in-class genomic next generation sequencing services to the Biopharma and Clinical Research sectors worldwide. In addition, they partner with the medical community in providing clinical diagnostic testing services to optimise therapeutic intervention and patient outcomes. The Laboratory Scientist will join the Lab Operations Team, working in a INAB, ISO15189 environment and will be performing routine and specialised methods.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performing and supervising a variety of laboratory workflows using both routine and specialised techniques and methods in some of the following areas: DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, microarray platforms for genotyping and methylation analysis next generation sequencing technologies.

  • Contributing to the QC analysis and tertiary analysis

  • Adhering to the laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.

  • Organising performance maintenance or services as required in conjunction with laboratory staff and project schedules.

  • Managing daily work load through the laboratory information system (LIMS).

  • Participating in laboratory cross training programmes.

  • General Lab maintenance and readiness

  • Participating and supporting in audits.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • BSc in Biological Science or equivalent

  • Confident in methods such as; nucleic acid extractions, PCR, Microarray and Next Generation Sequencing assays.

  • Experience in a diagnostic or medical laboratory environment

  • Great communication skills and a can do attitude
