Applications Engineer

Full-time, Permanent position
Location - Naas, Kildare

Force recruitment has partnered with one of the leading manufacturing client based in Naas, Kildare who are currently on a look out for an applications engineer/customer support engineer to work on supporting the innovation, design and development of inspection and measurement solutions.

This person will primarily be responsible for conducting feasibility studies and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for customer specific applications as well as providing technical support and training to customers and channel partners in the manufacturing inspection industry.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION'S AND EXPERIENCE

  • A good technical competence with analytical skills
  • A proven track record of meeting deadlines
  • Experience in a fully commercial environment ideally related to industrial inspection equipment or similar, and an aptitude to present customer onsite demonstrations of technical products
  • A proven record in providing excellent customer support
  • A proficiency with Microsoft packages – Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE

  • To use product/service and application knowledge to address customer inquiries, challenges and requests
  • To provide customer technical email and phone support
  • Enable customer self-sufficiency by creating user/technical documentation and training materials
  • Create and maintain FAQ and answer database
  • Develop Proof of Concept (PoC) solutions and reports for customers
  • Create and maintain a database of customer application samples
  • Manage training on the range of products and provide technical support for new sales opportunities
  • Travel to tradeshows and visit customers onsite
  • Software Testing and Bug reporting
  • Setup comparison experiments for evaluation of new technology
  • Component and accessory sourcing

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • A 3rd level engineering qualification is desirable
  • A highly motivated, enthusiastic professional with a strong desire to provide solutions for our customers’ needs
  • A good ability to understand complex technical concepts and develop innovative solutions
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to work closely with the various departments and regularly communicate and report activities
  • An organised and dependable person, with an ability to work on their own initiative, as well as part of the wider team
  • Good influencing and presentation skills
