Role Overview

This stand-alone position requires a strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen who can identify new market opportunities, strengthen existing partnerships, and expand reach into key sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a business development strategy for a defined product category, aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing customers to drive sales performance.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within predefined target sectors.
  • Propose solutions and pursue product innovation that drives profitable growth, enhances value, and improves margin.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform strategy.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to generate leads and partnerships.
  • Evaluate and pursue acquisition opportunities that complement the existing business portfolio.
  • Collaborate with internal sales teams and engage cross-functional stakeholders proactively.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in business development, sales, or procurement, ideally within industrial or chemical sectors.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with supply-chain dynamics, key suppliers, and customer needs across multiple sectors.
  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to craft and execute strategic growth plans.
  • Relationship Building: Strong track record of developing long-term partnerships with suppliers and customers.
  • Market Expansion: Experience launching into new markets—particularly in food, pharmaceutical, or related industries—is advantageous.
  • Negotiation & Communication: Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence and close deals; clear and concise communicator.
  • Initiative & Independence: Self-starter who can operate autonomously while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
  • Licence: Full clean driving licence.
