Technical Sales Executive

Location - Galway

Our manufacturing client who excels in innovation and technology are on a look out for a technical sales executive for their facility in Galway. This role would suit an individual who has excellent sales skills and an initiative-taker that is eager to hit targets and work well under pressure.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and the growth of the new and existing business opportunities in Ireland.

Responsibilities:

  • To Identify and establish new business through lead generation and prospecting.
  • To generate new customer acquisition in industry sectors including medical device, precision engineering, automotive, defence, electronics amongst others.
  • To gain a clear understanding of customers' business and requirements.
  • To develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements.
  • To work closely with our applications team to deliver first class inspection and measurement solutions.
  • To perform on-site demonstrations and technical presentations.
  • To prepare proposals, quotations and administer client accounts.
  • To work on after sales support services and provide technical back-up as required.
  • To prepare reports and keep customer records through our CRM software.
  • To meet regular sales targets and co-ordinate sales projects.
  • To support customers to deliver world class product support in tandem with applications support team.
  • To help set up, coordinate, and attend key national tradeshows and generate new leads and sales opportunities.
  • To collaborate closely with other company departments to deliver market feedback, channel partner support and customer satisfaction.
  • To participate in the company innovation programme by providing customer and market feedback on end-user requirements, market trends and potential opportunities.
  • To deliver KPIs and quarterly sales growth targets.
  • To present regular progress reports and updates to the management team.

Personal profile:

  • A good technical competence with analytical skills.
  • A proven track record of meeting sales targets and deadlines.
  • Experience in a fully commercial environment ideally related to industrial inspection equipment or similar, and an aptitude to present customer onsite demonstrations of technical products.
  • Experience in identifying new opportunities, new customers and new applications and deliver on their potential.
  • Experience with the set-up, co-ordination, and attendance at tradeshows.
  • A proven record in providing excellent customer support.
  • A proficiency with CRM systems.
  • A proficiency with Microsoft packages - outlook, excel, word, and teams.
  • A business or sales related 3rd level qualification would be an advantage.
  • A highly motivated, enthusiastic professional with a strong desire to contribute to company growth.
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to work closely with the management team and regularly communicate and report activities.
  • Possesses practical knowledge in process, business, and commercial areas.
  • An organised and dependable person, with an ability to work on their own initiative, as well as part of the wider team, to achieve personal and company targets and KPIs.
  • Displays good knowledge and capability with digital marketing platforms.
  • Good influencing and presentation skills.
