Job Description:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis. This role involves supporting our accounts payable and receivable functions, preparing weekly payroll, monitoring customer billing reports, and handling VAT and excise duty reclaims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:

    • Process invoices and payments.

    • Manage and follow up on outstanding invoices.

  • Payroll Assistance:

    • Compile and process timesheets.

    • Ensure accurate payroll processing.

  • Billing and Reclaims:

    • Review billing reports and address discrepancies.

    • Prepare VAT reclaims for EU purchases.

    • Reclaim excise duty on fuel purchases.

  • Invoice Reconciliation:

    • Verify shipping invoices against transport records.

    • Resolve any discrepancies.

  • General Support:

    • Provide administrative support.

    • Assist with office management tasks such as filing and data entry.

Requirements:

  • Experience:

    • 1-2 years in a similar role.

  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Proficient in Excel.

    • Experience with Sage and Brightpay is a plus.

  • Attributes:

    • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Effective time management and initiative.
