Surgical Sales Manager

Job description

As the Surgical Sales Manager you will be responsible for leading and managing our surgical sales team to achieve sales targets and exceed customer expectations. You will develop strategic sales plans, foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the success of our surgical product lines.

Sales Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of surgical sales representatives to achieve individual and team sales targets.
  • Set clear sales objectives, provide guidance on sales strategies, and monitor performance to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions to develop and enhance the skills of the sales team.
Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate target markets, drive revenue growth, and expand market share in the surgical segment.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for product development and expansion.
  • Collaborate with senior management to define sales goals, objectives, and priorities aligned with overall business strategies.
Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, surgeons, surgical staff, and procurement professionals in healthcare facilities.
  • Understand customer requirements, address inquiries and concerns promptly, and provide solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Work closely with the sales team to develop and execute account plans, negotiate contracts, and secure new business opportunities.
Product Knowledge and Training:
  • Maintain a deep understanding of our surgical product portfolio, including features, benefits, and applications.
  • Provide product training and support to the sales team, healthcare professionals, and end-users as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, surgical techniques, and best practices to effectively position our offerings in the market.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, customer service, and operations, to ensure alignment of sales initiatives with overall business strategies.
  • Provide input into product development, marketing campaigns, and promotional activities based on customer feedback and market insights.
  • Act as a liaison between the sales team and other departments to facilitate communication and coordination of activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in surgical sales management or leadership roles within the medical or healthcare industry.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse market data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
