Warehouse Operative

Job description

Our client, based in Yarnton, is the world leader in motion capture technology, developing high-performance software and hardware products for the entertainment, engineering and life science industries. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced warehouse operative to join their team.
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Warehouse Operative role within the Production Department is responsible for all packing and shipment functions for the Company.

Please note this role is fully on-site, so candidates must be able to commute to Yarnton.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Pack for shipment all Goods as required
          - Understanding and maintaining the FIFO system of stock
          - Manual handling in compliance with the company process
          - Knowledge of shipping processes with DHL, FedEx, UPS, etc.
          - Stock management with Bill of Materials
  • Correspondence and liaising with the Sales and Operations Planning team for priority of daily packaging.
  • Data entry to the company ERP for the movement of product into stock.
  • Generation of Packing Slips using the company ERP
  • Packing all goods, materials and returns to minimise shipping cost and potential damage, referring to relevant specifications.
  • Pack goods in compliance with shipping regulations, carrier and company requirements. 
  • Final inspection of all goods, materials and repairs before packing.
  • Incorporate methods into the packing process to ensure goods packed match Picking Lists, including serial number rationalisations.
  • Monitor and re-order packaging material as and when required.
  • Ensuring the shipment area is kept tidy and organised, and to be able to locate packages as required.
  • To assist in other areas where necessary to meet business needs, e.g. goods receiving, production kitting and stock counts.
Previous Experience/Qualifications:
  • Must have previous warehouse experience, including knowledge of shipping processes.
  • Meticulous with a good eye for detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Organised and tidy.
  • Exhibit good written and verbal communication skills.
