Key Account Manager

Our client based in Borehamwood is a progressive company that specialise in global sourcing of unlicensed medicines, international exports and clinical trials. This organisation is experiencing exponential growth and is providing the healthcare network with solutions for unmet patient needs. They are now looking for an experienced Key Account Manager within unlicensed medicines due to huge growth and internal promotions.
As Key Account Manager, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining strong relationships with key hospital pharmacy accounts. 
Your primary responsibility will be to drive sales and ensure the smooth delivery of products to meet the healthcare needs of busy Hospital Pharmacy departments. You will be the main point of contact for the key hospital pharmacy clients, understanding their requirements, addressing concerns, and providing exceptional service.

Please note suitable candidates must have unlicensed medicine experience and be ideally located within the South of the UK.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Key Account Management:

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key hospital accounts.

  • Understand the unique needs and challenges of each account and provide tailored solutions.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders within the hospitals, including procurement managers, pharmacists, and medical professionals.

Sales and Business Development:

  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth within key accounts.

  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and pursue them effectively.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop sales plans and strategies to achieve targets.

Product Knowledge and Education:

  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in unlicensed medicines and related regulations.

  • Provide training and education to hospital staff on the features, benefits, and appropriate use of our products.

  • Act as a resource for healthcare professionals, answering questions and providing information on our products.

Supply Chain Management:

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any issues that may arise.

  • Monitor inventory levels at key accounts and work with logistics to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.

  • Proactively identify and address any supply chain challenges to ensure seamless delivery of products.

Market Analysis and Reporting:

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting the sale of unlicensed medicines.

  • Analyse sales data and generate reports to track performance against targets.

  • Provide regular updates to management on key account activities, sales performance, and market insights.

Previous Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, pharmacy, life sciences, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Proven experience in key account management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical sales process and regulatory requirements for unlicensed medicines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.

  • Proactive and results-driven approach to sales and account management.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Additional Information:

  • Please note this is a full-time, permanent role with core hours of Monday to Friday 9 am – 5.30 pm but flexibility is required due to the nature of the role and visiting clients.

  • 26 days holiday plus Bank Holiday.

  • Full health care insurance, critical illness cover and death in service cover.

  • Additional £7500 car allowance.

  • Bonus: 20% of salary uncapped.
