Job Title: Medical Representative – Optometry Practices

Territory: Munster
Reporting To: National Sales Manager
Location: Field-Based


Role Overview

We are seeking a Medical Representative to manage and grow customer relationships across the optometry sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a range of eyecare products and driving commercial success across a defined geographical territory. This is a field-based role focused on delivering excellent service to community optometry practices.

Purpose of the Role

To build and maintain strong customer relationships with community optometrists and their staff, promoting OTC eyecare products and expanding product presence through effective sales and detailing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned optometry practices.

  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key practice stakeholders.

  • Promote OTC eyecare products, particularly those addressing conditions like blepharitis and dry eye.

  • Deliver effective product detailing and education both in person and via virtual platforms.

  • Monitor and analyse sales data to inform territory planning and execution.

  • Meet and exceed agreed sales targets.

  • Present product and disease area information confidently and professionally.

  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends.

  • Participate in trade exhibitions, conferences, and online events.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to share insights and support overall business success.

  • Provide regular reporting and feedback on territory performance.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in science, business, or related discipline preferred.

  • Experience in optometry or healthcare/pharmaceutical sales desirable.

  • Membership of MRII or similar professional body is an advantage.

  • Full clean driving licence required.
